Did you ever ask yourself what’s the real meaning of”Originality”?

It’s the mean subject of this century; if centuries could be charapters of a story wrote in a book, “originaliy” may be the title of this short laps of time.

Dormant throught 1800, this word was already an obsession in the starting of 1900 and exactly like a summery hit ( maybe shallow,bit senseless but curiously able to catch our mind possession) this theme has become the protagonist of all the twentieth century’s art movements- is densest century of names and ideologies: because they could not be express before or because there was a strong desire to underline every facet of different/similar mind?

Just like a catchphrase in 20th century’s fall,1980, it leaves room to all those songs that we’ve been always heard, the beautiful ones, unforgetten, those whom we feel inside even if we’re aware that they’ve been written many years ago and world has gone ahead.

About all of this desire there’s not much left, we’re in the new century that bows to ignorance often unconcious and what is now called “original” is just an invention that copies principles and forms that can be found in a book already wrote( perheaps buried by billions pages, maybe untraceable but existing);

imagine Michelangelo, Bernini, Monet or Picasso ( just to mentions two or tree pillars) sitting on a chair, staring into space, asking themselves how to be original, new, recognizable; do you really belive that while they were painting,sculpting, building they were taking so much care about what was surrounding them?

-because originality is unvoidable from his context related to past and present-

no,i don’t belive it. I think they applied all their technical skills and feelings, the emotions they felt , novelty the artistic genious brought to reflection or creation were nothing but a natural progression of events, a mirror of a context in wich they acted. They were individuals born to feel as covered by An hypersensitive skin able to capt more perceptions than others, faster than others and especially able to investigate those perceptions with more intuition than others.

I’m not as pride to give my self a title that,to the greatest, was conferred centuries later by marveling observers, as I don t dare to speak of art, because it s a too broad definition to be fully embraced.

What I do is what you can see, what any eye can see; the more the viewer loves to observe and reflect on his surroundings the more deeply he can evaluate every colour on canvas.

My ambition is to make paintings that do not need explenatory lines exactly like a storyteller doesn’t need images to make those who read the fantasy world appear.

Painting. Call it what you want.
